COLUMBIANA COUNTY MUNICIPAL (2024)

A pretrial was set Aug. 12 for Gennaro Moscato III, 41, Beechwood Drive, Columbiana, charged with telecommunications harassment and allegation of officer misconduct for allegedly calling the admin line of the Columbiana Police Department dispatch on April 27 to yell and call employees scumbags and accusing officers of profiling him and violating his civil rights. An affidavit said he was warned multiple times for telecommunication harassment for calling several times and allegedly falsely accused an officer of threatening him and causing him to fear for his life. The allegation was made up from when the officer called him and calmly verbally warned him about the telecommunications harassment.

A pretrial was set May 30 for Timothy Boggs, 31, North Pleasant Street, East Palestine, charged with assault for allegedly threatening a woman with a large crow bar before grabbing her by the throat and pinning her to the hood of her vehicle in a driveway on state Route 154 on May 4.

Cagney Springer, 35, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct, amended from menacing by stalking, for threatening to harm another woman during an incident last year at Westgate Middle School.

A pretrial was set June 3 for Cameron Yarwood, 45, New Garden Road, Salem, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a bag for storage of drugs on her after she was taken into custody on a warrant.

A pretrial was set May 30 for Dennis Quinn, 64, East Third Street, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for $273 worth of items from the Salem Walmart on May 15.

Allen Vancooney, 28, last known address South Union Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for two days served, leaving 28 days to serve, for theft and criminal trespass for stealing $368 worth of goods from Walmart on April 27 after being previously trespassed from the store. A probation violation hearing was set May 30 for another theft charge from 2023.

Jeffrey Yanni, 20, Main Street, Wellsville, was fined $400 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 89 days suspended and credit for one day served, for falsification and obstructing official business. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Yanni was accused of admitting on Feb. 24 to lying about an alleged sexual assault against him that he reported for a Nov. 22, 2023 incident in Wellsville. He also allegedly used deception to hinder the investigation and provided false information to witnesses to stall the investigation.

Katina McGurl, 43, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended and credit for one day served, leaving a balance of nine days to serve, for falsification and endangering children. She was ordered to complete 60 hours community service and to take a parenting course. McGurl was accused of giving a loaded .22-caliber revolver to a juvenile and taking the juvenile to a public park to discharge the weapon, with the juvenile accidentally discharging the weapon into his foot in East Liverpool on Jan. 16. She also made a false statement to police when she told an officer she took the juvenile to a friend’s house in St. Clair Township. The officer later learned from her that it happened at Thompson Park. Another charge of falsification was dismissed.

Ariel Durham, 35, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served for disorderly conduct. She was accused of throwing items at cars and refusing to leave after being kicked out of Fernangle’s Tavern, South Broadway, Salem, on Nov. 30, 2023. She was ordered to stay out of the tavern.

A pretrial was set July 15 for Jamie Banks, 36, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct for an alleged incident on March 22 at Dollar General in Damascus where she allegedly exchanged words with another woman, the other woman spit on her and she grabbed the other woman by the face while the other woman pulled her hair.

Curtis Gearhart, 40, Pine Hollow Road, Lisbon, was fined $300 and sentenced to one day in jail, with credit for one day served, for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, open container and turn signal violation. The failure to comply charge stemmed from Gearhart failing to stop for officers attempting a traffic stop July 17, 2023 in Lisbon.

Robert Brown, 28, Hookstown, Pa., was fined $250 for drug paraphernalia and no license, with no fine issued for a u-turn violation. Brown possessed a cut straw with unknown residue during a traffic stop on May 9 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set July 15 for Aaron Board, 23, Broad Street, East Liverpool, charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, no motorcycle endorsem*nt and no helmet. On May 8, he allegedly fled from police attempting a traffic stop on an ATV in St. Clair Township.

Bryce Stenger, 29, Tower Road, Salem, was fined $920 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and speeding. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted.

Matthew McDole, 53, Industry, Pa., was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI, driving under suspension and failure to control. His drivers license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Denise Glancy, 58, Irish Ridge Road, East Liverpool, was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control, amended from OVI, and driving under suspension. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Aug. 13 for Richard Cox, 41, North Benton, charged with OVi first offense, endangering children/operating a vehicle, use of unauthorized plate, distracted driving, left of center and no seat belt. Cox was allegedly driving impaired with three juveniles in the vehicle on May 14 on Depot Road, Butler Township.

Frederick Kirby Sr., 48, Chester, W.Va., was fined $100 for possession of drug abuse instruments for having a hypodermic needle during a traffic stop March 2 in Liverpool Township.

A pretrial was set June 17 for Cassandra Badini, 35, Rootstown, charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Brandon Jones, 38, Mingo Junction, was fined $280 for driving under suspension, no seat belt and speeding.

Steven Cunningham, 33, Erie Street, Columbiana, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.
