Updated! I loved my cabin. My room steward was AMAZING!! new couch. Comfortable bed! Loved my balcony. No complaints whatsoever. My room was towards the back of the ship. But very convenient to the dining room and Specialty dining. Never had to take the elevator.

Good 4 day cruise by sotoadventures

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Oasis of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cabin was perfect! It was both clean and beautiful. Plenty of storage space and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only negative thing I can say about our balcony is the location. It was awesome being that close to the elevator but there is a hot tub located directly above, and it's constantly throwing water all over the balcony. Made it very difficult to sit on the balcony and enjoy a meal.

A Great Time was had by All by Nasshorn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Oasis of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cabin was as we expected. Of course it was compact, but I was impressed by how they had arranged space to maximize it. Clever little racks, shelves and cubby holes. I really enjoyed our balcony space. The door to the balcony was somewhat cumbersome, but I imagine that was necessary to keep it secure, especially if we had run into any severe weather. My one complaint was the the refrigerator was not very cold. I did not take the temperature, but I kept some soda pop in there and it was never very cold.

FAQs

What is category 4D on Royal Caribbean? ›

Category 4D - Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony.

What cabins to avoid on Oasis of the Seas? ›

As a rule of thumb, most of the Oasis of the Seas cabins to avoid are those on Deck 3 below the ice rink and the casino; staterooms on decks 6 and 7 closest to the theater, and those on Deck 14, as they're subject to noise from the pool deck directly above.

What does 2D and 4D mean on a cruise? ›

They are identical rooms, the only difference is that 4D is forward or aft and 2D is midship, which is usually considered to be between the forward and aft elevators. Even numbers are rooms for only 2 guests. Odd numbers are rooms for 3 or 4 guests.

What is the difference between balcony and Ocean View balcony? ›

Balcony: Differences. The key difference between oceanview rooms and balcony cabins is, of course, one has a window and the other has a private verandah, usually furnished with a couple of chairs and a drinks table. Oceanview cabins can have either a rectangular window or a round porthole, which typically do not open.

What does D mean on a cruise ship? ›

All of the D-category staterooms are oceanview balcony staterooms. D1s are known as "Superior Oceanview Staterooms with Large Balcony" because these are the "hump" staterooms, the ones located where the ship bulges out in two places on either side of the ship, creating larger, deeper balconies.

What is category 4n on Royal Caribbean? ›

Size: 179 sq. ft. Amenities: Two twin beds that convert to a Royal King a window with obstructed view private bathroom with shower vanity area an interactive flat-screen TV iPod docking station mini-safe radio telephone and a hairdryer.

What is the best room on Oasis of the Seas? ›

Royal Loft Suite: The most opulent accommodations on Oasis of the Seas, the Royal Loft Suite is the size of a modest home (1,599 square feet with an 875-square-foot balcony), and features such luxuries as a baby grand piano and a dining area with a dry bar for entertaining on the bottom level.

Which deck to avoid on cruise? ›

Check for decks close to the crew service entrances as well as the main cruise engine. Such decks will have a higher level of noise compared to a sandwiched deck area.

What is the best cabin level on a cruise ship? ›

The most stable part of the ship is its lowest point of gravity, so on a lower deck, at the center. You'd feel a lot less motion here than, say, in a stateroom on the upper decks a long way forward or aft (towards the back of the ship).

What does the D mean in 4D? ›

4D, meaning the common 4 dimensions, is a theoretical concept in mathematics. It has been studied by mathematicians and philosophers since the 18th century. Mathematicians who studied four-dimension space in the 19th century include Möbius, Schläfi, Bernhard Riemann, and Charles Howard Hinton.

Category 4V - Interior Stateroom. Description: Interior staterooms have two twin beds that convert to a Royal King, a private bathroom, and a sitting area.

These cabins include 14207 - 14217, 14607 - 14617, 14229 - 14235, and 14629 - 14635. Finally, if you are staying in a Boardwalk balcony, you shouldn't expect to get a clear view of the ocean, as the Ultimate Abyss causes the majority of these cabins to have an obstructed view of the ship's aft.

Which balcony is best on a cruise? ›

Know This: Location can matter! One of the best spots for a balconied cabin (or suite) is on a ship's aft deck, facing backward over the wake. It's an incredibly soothing sight ,and often these verandas (even with a standard-category cabin) are deeper and roomier than usual.

Which is the best side of a cruise ship to be on? ›

If your cruise is a closed-loop or a round-trip beginning and ending at the same port, your cruise is likely to be equally scenic on the port or starboard side. You may just see different things at different parts of your journey. The same is true if you are cruising across the open ocean.

What does category mean on Royal Caribbean? ›

Category 5D - Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony. Description: Balcony staterooms have two twin beds that convert to a Royal King, a sitting area with sofa, full bathroom, and a private balcony.

What are category codes on cruises? ›

The number corresponds to the type of stateroom (inside, oceanview, verandah) and typically the higher the number the more economical the stateroom is. The letter that follows it (A-E) corresponds to the location on the ship and typically the higher decks have either an A or a B, but that is not always the case.
