The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Research Scientist I position at the Office of Population Health and Evaluation's Division of Data Science. The Office of Population Health and Evaluation's Division of Data Science seeks a research scientist to assist with data reporting & analyses, to support office operational needs and research analytics. This role will include tasks such as processing large data, developing business intelligence reports and visualizations, applying statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze data, identifying patterns and relationships. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and results-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Ideal candidate will have solid presentation, organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams and ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes;
• Develop processes to assure data quality and integrity, and analyze model performance for reporting and analytics;
• Design and implement data flows and visualizations, generally working with a small team of developers;
• Develop custom data models and machine learning algorithms;
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns;
• Assist writing research papers, reports, reviews and summaries.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of the experience. Appropriate bachelor's degree fields include business administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields.
• 1 year of professional experience in data visualization and analytics.
• 1 year of working with SQL for data analysis and to generate stored procedures.
• 1 year of experience running statistical procedures, using SAS, Python, R.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience developing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex problems.
• 1 year experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Tableau driven dashboards & analytics
