Santa’s Late Night Cocoa is not like anything you’ve had before! If you leave this for Santa instead of regular milk on Christmas Eve, he might get a little tipsy and forget what he is doing! It’s incredible flavors of Crown Royal, cinnamon, allspice seasoning, and hot chocolate are perfection.

  • Santa's Late Night Cocoa (1)

Crown Royal is the drink of choice for many and for good reason. It’s delicious and mixes well with all sorts of drinks. Who would have thought it would go so well with hot chocolate. Well, you need to try it to understand how incredible the flavors compliment each other. Pretty sure after the first sip you would have a favorite boozy co*cktail for the cool winter months.

Hot chocolate has a way of bringing a smile to my face. I think it’s because it reminds me of being a kid and sipping on some during the holidays. Whatever it is, I am still excited when I think of it. Nowadays, I like to make “special” drinks with some alcohol. Santa’s Late Night Cocoa is one of my favorite ways to enjoy a mug of hot chocolate over the last few years. I knew it was time to share it with you.

Ingredients Needed

  • Hot Cocoa Mix – Any variety or flavor will do. So, go with something you like already and you’ll be all set.
  • Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon is such a fun touch to the drink. It’s warm and just tastes like winter.
  • Allspice – Another favorite ingredient of mine. I love how spicy it is and I’m sure you will too.
  • Crown Royal – Regular Crown or Vanilla Crown are both tasty options. Try them both to see what you like the best.
  • Cinnamon Sticks – While you aren’t required to add the cinnamon sticks they do add the elegance and style of the drink.
  • Whipped Cream – I may or may not love to use whipped cream because I like to spray some in my mouth while I am making the drink.

Can I Use Different Alcohol?

Yep! Any kind of whiskey will do. Just swap the Crown for whatever you like, and it will be fine. The flavor is going to vary, but overall it’s still going to be pretty good. Vodka, Rum, and Chocolate Liqueur are all good ideas too.

Is This A Good Party co*cktail?

Absolutely! Serve this Santa’s Late Night Cocoa at your next holiday party and everyone is for sure going to be asking for the recipe. It’s always a crowd pleaser because it tastes great and looks classy too.

For parties and large groups, I recommend utilizing your slow cooker. It’s a great way to house the hot chocolate. For best results, prepare all of the hot chocolate in advance then pour it into the crockpot. Turn it onto the warming setting and stir periodically. I recommend making the hot chocolate with water instead of milk if you are making a large batch so the milk doesn’t curdle.

It’s fine to add the spices while it’s in the slow cooker, but wait to add the alcohol until you are serving it. Otherwise, either the alcohol will cook off or it could catch on fire. Neither one of those scenarios are ideal.
