Tripwire installation kit (Tripwire) is an item in Escape from Tarkov.

Description[]

An improvised booby trap kit made of tent pegs and wire with a carabiner. Allows the user to install tripwires on flat surfaces or to conceal explosives on an object.

Notes[]

• Cannot be listed for sale on the flea market.
• The kit is not lootable from players and persists upon death as long as it is placed in a special item slot.

• Only 4 can be held in a raid inventory at the same time
• Tripwire kills do not count as grenade kills for quests

Usage[]

• The kit must be placed in any inventory slot and equipped via the "Change weapon fire mode" keybind (Default: B) while holding any grenade besides the RDG-2B in hands.
  • The tripwire can be placed freely on any flat surface, with a minimum of 0.8, and a maximum wire distance of 3 meters. The explosion delay depends on the used grenade. A placed tripwire will persist for 10 minutes before it automatically disarms.

• Tripwires can be disarmed at the grenade with bare hands in 11 seconds, and with a Leatherman Multitool in the inventory in 3 seconds. The used grenade can be picked up again but the kit is destroyed.

• Tripwires can also be activated/disarmed by bullets and shrapnel hitting their wire. Hitting the pegs or the grenade does not work.
