Today I bid farewell to Baird after a 4.5 year journey in Cost Basis (Client Reporting). A journey which began in January of 2019 with myself as an Intern and led to exploring the incredible world of Baird. This journey empowered me to break personal barriers I once faced, network with professionals from distinct business units, and gain invaluable experience within the financial services industry. This journey now leads me to pursue an opportunity with U.S. Bank! Many times I’ve heard Baird associates mention how much other associates truly mean to them and the shared memories. This has been more than true for me during these last two weeks. Although I’ve decided to leave Baird, the outpouring of support to my decision from coworkers, clients, and senior leaders has been greatly appreciated. Each person I’ve met along this 4.5 year journey holds a small stake in my achieved success while at Baird. To my Baird PWM colleagues, I want to take the opportunity and thank each and every one of you for entrusting your clients with me. Through these 4.5 years I’ve been able to grow, learn, and partner with you to continue successful relationships with your clients. To my friends in Campus Recruiting, HR, Finance, ARGs, PATRIOT, and of course Operations; THANK YOU for all the years of memorable moments. I’m equally wishing you and your teams continued success through whatever the future brings. My Baird journey for now has ended, however will never be forgotten! Cheers to Baird, a job well done, and to the new beginnings ahead! #Baird #Bairddifference #Bairdintern

I had no idea what I wanted to do next at that point in my career. I had no plan, no strategy, and hadn’t created a vision for what was next. However, I was clear about having a life that included going to church AND having a job. #WorkLifeBalance After a series of strategic decisions, I took a leap of faith. I was no longer willing to be so accustomed to rules that I was unwilling to take smart, calculated risks.I gave my employer a 6-week notice. I emptied my 401k against the unsolicited advice and opinions of those closest to me. I placed my resume online and went on vacation - Ocean City, MD…in January. A recruiter from Wachovia Bank called to speak with me about 2 roles, Financial Center Manager and Financial Specialist. I never applied for either role. I didn’t think I was qualified. I went the route of Financial Center Manager, no formal experience in the industry and without a degree. The lesson: skills are transferable. No one taught me this transformational career tidbit but I was determined to help as many people as possible with this newfound knowledge. I’ll continue to share more of my career journey tomorrow but just know……..You can switch roles and industries with the knowledge and expertise you currently have. #PowHerMoves

🤝 Corporate Sponsorship: A Catalyst for Change 🚀Corporate sponsorship is more than just financial support; it's a commitment to empower underrepresented talent. While I’ll always lift as I climb when I identify amazing colleagues, I keep a passion for speaking on behalf of corporate sponsorship in fostering diversity and inclusion. As we continue to strive for equitable and representative workplaces, let's focus on uplifting African American women.By sponsoring African American women, we:1️⃣ Break Barriers: Open doors to leadership roles and opportunities they deserve.2️⃣ Cultivate Talent: Nurture diverse perspectives, fostering innovation and creativity.3️⃣ Drive Change: Promote an inclusive workplace that reflects the richness of our society.#DiversityandInclusion #CorporateSponsorship #EmpowerWomen #InclusiveWorkplaces #AfricanAmericanLeadership #leadershipcoaching #leadershipdevelopment

One month at Goldman Sachs.-Is it easy to get into Goldman Sachs?- Well they do provide visitor passes.- No I mean to join there. Was it difficult to get in?- It took almost 4 years.- I mean post academics ?- Not more difficult than getting the Prefix.- How is the environment there?- I would say you'll like going to office.- and how are the people ?- I would still say you'll like going to office.- Okay. What about the work? - yaa work is a good guy, pays me every month.- That means it's chill there?- Yaa air conditioning is good. - No No sorry I mean pressure? Is it there?- Well, less than what I had before joining in.- Are you satisfied with the pay?- I'm satisfied with the life.- Don't you think others might be earning even more?- If others include Aman Gupta, yes I do.- Is it worth leaving the home?- It's worth it every time I go back home now.- So we can say that you're enjoying your work?- Well you can say I do my work and enjoy after that.- Does that mean your work is not that interesting?- Well I can't get paid for watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S.- Okay last question, what advice would you give to the "aspiring chartered accountants" regarding the job market?- Remove that "aspiring" and it'll all be better.#Charteredaccountant #GoldmanSachs #ICAI #CAstudents

"You can't do it alone." It's so true. I've witnessed the crucial impact of a leader who not only understands and believes in their team members' capabilities, but also vocally champions them when they aren't around.I've been this champion for my team members in the past, and I've also been the one who needed a champion. I've had powerful advocates, and I've been burned when that advocacy wasn't as strong as I believed.Regardless of what level of leadership you are in now (or where you will go), make it a point to speak the names of those you believe in. Building others as we rise is truly the most fulfilling and important work we can do.#womeninleadership #advocacy #leadershipdevelopment
